By Tia Campos | The Walker Memorial library has enacted a new safety policy this semester by enforcing a new way for students to enter after dark.
From now on, students and staff are required to scan their Howard Payne I.D. after 6 p.m. to enter the library.
The library is still open to the public, but only until 6 p.m.
This extra measure has been taken by the university to ensure that only students and staff may enter the building in evening hours in order to provide a safer, more secure study and work environment.
Howard Payne will continue taking the steps to make this campus as safe as it can for students and staff.
