Howard Payne University will host a “Click it or Ticket” event in the Taylor Hall parking lot on Thursday.
Click it or Ticket is a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) tour that is statewide that travels and gives teenagers and college students an interactive experience to reinforce what wearing a seatbelt can do.
The event uses “three attention-getting” vehicles to teach the young adults the consequences of not wearing a seatbelt and the statistics of how low seatbelt use is between young adults and their passengers.
The event will have three vehicles at the site that display:
- A wrecked 250 Ford truck that was involved is a crash and rolled
- A digital truck that will play a video stating the facts and safety of wear a seatbelt
- A rollover/ seat belt convincer that will demonstrate what happens when a person gets into an accident without wearing a seat belt.
During the event the audience will be taken through these three interactive stations and hear about safety precautions of wearing a seat belt.
The viewers will then be asked to take a pledge to wear their seat belt which will give the students a chance to win free Apple Airpods.
