By Jordan Givens | Many on campus have noticed Howard Payne’s chapel band has not performed the past couple of Wednesday’s. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that they were recovering from an audition with the hit show, “America’s Got Talent.”
Junior education major, Amanda Moore, has sung in the chapel band for two years.
“God has been leading us through this journey and I never imagined that we would be where we are,” said Moore.
The chapel band has done a great job leading us in worship this semester, and felt like the Lord was leading them to take it to the next level. Dr. Chris Rosborough, director of HPU’s chapel band, wants their desire to see Christ magnified to the global stage.
“It’s in our heart to make, not just a campus-wide impact, but a world-changing impact for the kingdom,” added Rosborough.
Auditions for the show were held throughout March and the series will premiere in May.
“We covet your prayers as we prepare our hearts, minds, voices and hands,” said Rosborough.
As the band waits for their results on if they are to advance, the newspaper staff regrets to inform you, “April Fools!”
HPU’s chapel band is very talented and glorifies the Lord in all that they do, but did not try out for America’s Got Talent. Maybe next year!
