HPU to host El Paso Center Open House

BROWNWOOD – April 24, 2013 – Howard Payne University will host an Open House at its new El Paso Center location, First Baptist Church El Paso, on Monday, April 29, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The El Paso Chamber of Commerce will perform a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, and guests will have the opportunity to take a tour of the new facilities and enjoy refreshments and fellowship.

Dr. Bill Ellis, HPU president, will give a brief presentation at 5:45 p.m., and other HPU faculty and staff members will be on hand to greet attendees.

“El Paso has been a welcoming home to HPU for more than 20 years,” said Dale Meinecke, assistant vice president for extended programs and church relations. “We are excited about our new location and look forward to many more years of collaboration with the city.”

HPU was founded in 1889, with its flagship campus located in Brownwood. In 1991, HPU opened a campus in El Paso and has since expanded its degree offerings there to include business administration, Christian studies, criminal justice and general studies.

“Our new campus facilities allow us to have an even greater outreach in El Paso as we offer HPU’s quality, Christ-centered education,” Meinecke said. “These are exciting times indeed for El Paso and HPU.”

The HPU El Paso Center is located at 805 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas 79902. For more information, call 915-533-8500, e-mail hpuelpaso@hputx.edu or visit the HPU El Paso Center website at www.hputx.edu/elpaso.
