BROWNWOOD – October 15, 2024 – The Howard Payne University New Braunfels Center will host a fall community seminar titled “FAFSA Simplified” on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. HPU’s Director of Student Financial Aid, Karen LaQuey, will speak to local students and their parents to help them learn more about the role federal student aid can have in paying for college and information required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
High school juniors and seniors interested in post-secondary study are invited to the informational seminar. The event will be held at the HPU New Braunfels Center located at 2164 Oak Run Parkway, Suite 103 in New Braunfels.
“Early completion of the FAFSA form is a vital step often overlooked by graduating high school seniors and families,” said Dr. Cynthia Ferguson, assistant vice president at the HPU New Braunfels Center. “Submitting FAFSA early enables families to understand their financial responsibilities and options, and helps them make informed decisions and plan early for college expenses.”
The session is provided for support and informational purposes only. The goal is to provide students and families with the necessary information to navigate the financial aid application process successfully.
“Because most people have limited experience with FAFSA, the HPU New Braunfels Center hosts a FAFSA information seminar each fall to assist families learn more about and gather the critical documents needed to apply for federal aid,” said Ferguson.
